Baguio de Cebu - Eco Mountain Adventure
Trending tourist destination that is new to the Cebu is the Baguio de Cebu in Mt. Manunggal, Balamban, Cebu. The place is not new to the mountaineers, since the place is a well known location for those who are really into mountaineering. The place is still on development and few of the facilities that Baguio de Cebu offers are horse back riding, sky biking, camping and trekking.
There is a canteen where you can buy water
and snacks and they offer barbecues. The canteen is open at around 7 AM and
will be closed at 6PM. There’s a comfort room available for the visitors and
for the campers. They also have a viewdeck wherein you will surely enjoy the
360 view of Cebu. In the viewdeck, you can witness beautiful sunrise and amazing
sunset view. You just have to bring coat with you, specially on a windy and
rainy season, since it’s really cold in the viewdeck.
For the outdoor lovers, you can ask guides
who are on the place to choose where you want to go. They can offer you many
places to have a trek. Few of the known places were Mt. Manunggal Peak, Mt.
Mauyog Peak, Monkey Peak. They can also guide you to nearby falls that are
found around Baguio de Cebu.
For the campers, you can bring your own tent
and pay 50 pesos each for the stay, and if you don’t have a tent, they have
tents for rent that cost 300 pesos. You can choose many areas to have a camp
but they will suggest to have the camp at the peak since there are people
incharge to check the safety of the campers.
How to get there:
From Ayala terminal, you can ride a van via
Balamban-Asturias-Tuburan. Fare is 120 pesos, just inform the driver to drop
you at the Mt. Manunggal drop point. From drop point, you can take a hike going
to the Eco park, or take motorcycle(habal-habal), fare cost about 75 pesos.
If you are from Balamban area, you can take
van going to Ayala, fare about 50 pesos from Balamban proper, and just inform
the driver to drop you at Mt. Manunggal drop point.

It is advisable to have a guide if you want to explore other places besides the Mt. Manunggal. Each guide cost 400 pesos for a group of 4-5 person.
